About us   History of Helwick’s Home Theater Helwick’s Home Theater was established in August of 1957 as Shuler Supply #2. It was located at 1516 30th Avenue in Gulfport, Mississippi. Within a year, Mr. Eldridge Helwick, Sr. became sole owner of Shuler Supply #2 and renamed it E.A. Helwick Radio and T.V. Supply. In 1958, the store flooded, so Mr. Eldridge Helwick, Sr. moved to 2832 13th Street in Gulfport. In 1962, the name was changed again due to the change of demand of radio repair to electronics. It was changed to E.A. Helwick Electronics. In 1964, after 5 years at 13th Street, the business moved to 2214 25th Avenue in Gulfport, where it stayed for 22 years. In 1986, the store moved to 2104 25th Avenue in Gulfport, which is its present location. The name changed once again in 2001 due to the change of demand from electronics to home theater. Its new name became Helwick’s Home Theater and Pro Audio, which is its present name.
